Due to a limited number of space students must complete and submit an application with a sample of artwork. Applications can be picked up in Ms. Wisniewski’s art room. The last day to turn in the application and sample artwork is September 23, 2013.  (rachel.wisniewski@pgcsp.rog)

Ms. Ritchie will be sponsoring Student Council for our 4th- 6th grade scholars this year. Packets will go home with any interested 4th-6th grade scholar.  Teachers will be discussing Student Council and the process during class.  “Intent to Run” forms will be collected on Wednesday, September 25.  Scholars that are running for Student Council will give thirty second speeches and an election will be held in the homeroom classes on Monday, September 30.  (whitney.ritchie@pgcps.org)

A Parent Information Meeting will be held for parents interested in the Imagine Schools Advanced Reading Challenge (ARC) for Grades 3-6.  ARC is open to Imagine Schools’ scholars who are at or above grade level in reading, and who can assume responsibility for independent work beyond their class and homework assignments.  Students will pledge to read each book in the provided grade-level book list and complete a short response.  A $50 Barnes and Noble Gift Card will be awarded to each scholar who reads and reports on the designated number of books (25 for grades 3-6) in a school year.  These students will be recognized nationally by Imagine Schools.  Come learn more about the ARC on Wednesday, September 18 from 5:00-5:45 in the IA Multipurpose Room.  Please contact Ms. McIllmail for additional information.
