Parent Weekly Update for the Week of April 28th

We have had an incredibly busy and exciting week this first week back from Spring Break! We ended our week today celebrating our 2^nd- 6^th grade 3^rd Quarter Accomplishments and Career Day!

We had so many wonderful careers represented. I would like to thank Ms. Ritchie for coordinating and organizing all of our guests for Career Day!

                                                       

      

     

April is the month of military child! Imagine Andrews recognized “Purple Up” Day today, Friday, April 25^th.  The color purple is used to symbolize all branches, as it is a combination of Army green, Marine Corps red, and Coast Guard, Navy and Air Force blue. 

The IAPTO is looking for volunteers to serve on the Election Committee.  An Election Chair and a minimum of two Election Committee Members are needed.  The details and responsibilities can be found in the flyer included with this update.

Yearbooks are here!  We have only ordered a limited number of extra yearbooks.  You are able to purchase them for $18 on Monday, April 28^th until they are all sold. Please see Ms. Carter between 8:15-8:30 each morning.  A Yearbook signing party will be held for each grade level.

Please do not bring your pets with you if you walk onto school grounds.  Thank you for your support!

Parent Weekly Update for the Week of April 14th

Spring Break is Monday, April 14^th - Monday, April 21^st. Classes resume Tuesday, April 22^nd.

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction has developed Spring Break Homework packets as a part of our program to continue to help students in reach their full academic potential.  All packets are optional and are available online. The answer keys will be posted online after April 21, 2014.  You are encouraged to have your child complete the packets for additional practice in the core content areas for enhancement or reinforcement of skills.  Teachers may be providing possible credit for work completed. 

Third Quarter Report Cards were sent home today. We will be recognizing our Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance scholars on Friday, April 25^th.  Kindergarten and 1^st grade will have their Third Quarter Awards Assembly on Friday, May 2^nd.

April is the month of military child! We honor the strength, sacrifices and continual resilience demonstrated by military children in support of their military family members.

The official observance is Tuesday, April 15.  We will be out for Spring Break so I am asking all to observe “Purple Up Day” on Friday, April 25.  Scholars and staff will be allowed to wear a purple shirt with their uniform bottom.

Parent Weekly Update for the Week of April 7

The last day of school for students is now Friday, June 13 which will be a half-day of school.  The grading period will be adjusted.

Message from the PTO:

Thursday April 10, 2014 is quickly approaching - your Claire's Gourmet Orders will be arriving and available for pick up. We have scheduled the following times for pick up (remember this is the only day to pick up your orders):

11am- 2pm and/or 3pm-6pm

Parent Weekly Update for the Week of March 31st

What an absolute wonderful time had by all at the IAPTO Family Fitness Night on Thursday evening!  Parents, staff, and scholars participated in Zumba, Boot Camp, jump roping, hula hooping, basketball, and so much more.  Wonderful prizes and healthy snacks were also available!  We thank the PTO, volunteers, and all participants. 

National Assistant Principals’ Week is Monday, March 31^st- Friday, April 4^th.  We have a wonderful Assistant Principal, Ms. Kimberly Corprew, and we would like to thank her for all she does for Imagine Andrews!

Parent Weekly Update for the Week of March 24th

We had our “Pennies for Patients” celebratory assembly today.  Imagine Andrews raised $4,178.25! Congratulations to Mrs. Gunn’s second grade class.  They raised over $700 and they were the winning homeroom.  They will receive a pizza party!
