This is so inspiring as we teach girls to cower especially in the presence of men. Such a segment would capture the attention of aspiring fitness gurus, poets, artists, entrepreneurs, and those who want to secure their future by using college as a vehicle. When you are able to see young people reach milestones and achieve accomplishments, the work of the external forces (parents, teachers, leaders, community members) are filled with an extreme sense of gratitude--giving motivation to continue to do the work required that will cultivate their gifts and talents. This way, they can become who and what they are intended to be. Extrinsic motivation leads to intrinsic motivation and the transformation is pleasing and worthy of sharing.
What does great leadership look like? I think it's very important to have this conversation with not only other leaders but with those that they may be leading. "Intentional skills" struck me as something important to identify.
I found this video to be interesting because in this program process they look for good instructional leader who are coachable with consideration of their "strength, gaps and weaknesses" in how it will effect a specific school. No leader is perfect and I feel this video shows the human characteristic of a great leader. One who is willing to get better.
