As my school district comes to a close of another school year, The Office of Talent Development, School Leadership Programs (SLP) recognizes participants of its program. SLP has the distinct honor of working with novice(1st and 2nd year) assistant principals and principals.
I have the pleasure of coordinating the Assistant Principal Induction Program (APIP) for all newly appointed assistant principals. APIP is a required two-year program that assists in the leadership development of the school district's newest leaders. APIP is ending its third year and strategically preparing for year four. Second-year assistant principals participate in monthly school visits, provide reviews and critiques of educational articles, conduct their own Leadership Development Team meeting with district leaders as a guide and support, reflect and provide recommendations for their school's school improvement process, and so much more.
I am exceptionally proud of APIP Cohort 2. They were engaged in their learning and developmental process and took the inquiry process to another level. I look forward to seeing these educational leaders continue to do great things in our school district and in the field of education. I also thank them for their commitment, dedication, and resiliency during the two years spent in APIP. I was charged with helping them develop as a leader, but they in turn have helped me become a more effective and intentional leader.
Thank you APIP Cohort 2! Best wishes on your future endeavors.
